Vintage Dinner and Bakeware...my newest obsession

I have fallen in LOVE with vintage dishes and Pyrex! My favorites are the pinks and blues, but all vintage is wonderful. I've got to order some pieces for myself on ebay after Christmas. This is what I'm going to start asking for on birthdays and holidays.

The dishes are called Crinoline Hazel Atlas. I adore them! They look so delicate and feminine. My husband would never allow me to use them for anything, but I would still love to have some. I just love Pyrex dishes, I use them all the time. I would love to add some vintage Pyrex to my collection. Those my husband would allow me to use. There are even some blue ones that have little white snowflakes on them. How cute is that!?

I just wanted to share my latest obsession. =)

Clean house?

Ever find it hard to make yourself wash dishes or sweep the floors? I never used to have a problem keeping a clean house, but something happened to me! My husband and I had a few roommates in and out of our house before we were married, that's when it all changed...

I got so tired of picking up after everyone else that I just totally gave up. My house was a pigsty anytime someone lived with us. My husband is good at cleaning up after himself, but he got sick of it too. Doing twice the dishes, finishing someone elses laundry, picking up other people's dirty socks from the living room, it just got to be too much. So, we let it go. We lived in squalor for so long I think I got lazy. Now that we are living alone I can't keep up with everything. It's like I got so far behind that I'll never catch up, so what do I do? Nothing. It drives me insane, but I just can't bring myself to do anything about it. I'm lucky if I do the dishes everyday or clean the bathrooms once a month. Gross, I know. I stay stressed out about it but I'm just too damn lazy to fix it. I plan on cleaning my house everday after work, but then I get home and look at it and just get overwhelmed. I don't understand how I've gotten so bad, my house used to be spotless! Now I'm too ashamed to have company over.

Anyone else ever had this problem? How did you overcome it? Got any magical solutions or easy methods of keeping a clean house? I need all the help I can get!

Peach Cobbler

Peach Cobbler
4 pounds or 32 ounces of peeled and sliced peaches (frozen works just fine)
2 cups of sugar, divided
1 cup of milk
1 stick of butter, not margerine
1 cup of self rising flour
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Put your stick of butter in a 9x13 inch baking dish or a 2 qt dish and place it in the oven while it preheats until the butter is melted. Put your peaches in a bowl and pour the lemon juice on them and stir, then add 1 cup of the sugar and microwave for about a minute or until the sugar starts to melt. In a separate bowl mix the rest of the sugar, flour and cinnamon. Pour the milk over the flour mixture and beat until smooth. Here's the hard part...pour your batter over your butter in the baking dish but DO NOT STIR. Then pour your peaches and sugar over that and DO NOT STIR. Place the dish, without stirring anything together in the oven and bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until golden brown. This is fabulous served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
